Audio of Alayam, the film starring Sivaji as hero alongside a star cast of more than 50, directed by Mutyala Subbaiah, was released. Anoop Chakravarty is the producer. Dr. D. Ramanaidu released the audio cassette and presented the first number to Telugu film producers' Council president Tammareddy Bharadwaj. Hero Sivaji played the songs from the audio cassette. Music is by Koti, who was not present due to preoccupied schedules.
Dr. Ramanaidu speaking on this occasion said: "When I came to film industry in 1962, I was so young. Same is the case with this present producer (of Alayam). I want him to take up filmmaking seriously with good scripts, fit for family entertainment. Seeing this poster, I can recall our previous films Nayudugari Kutumbham. I wish that the film would become a big hit."
Mutyala Subbaiah said: "There are more than 50 prime artistes in the film. It is finished in a record 50 days time." Hero Sivaji said: "I am happy to be doing a film with Subbaiah." Chalapati Rao recalled the moment when Tilak, senior director, who played the family head role in the film, chose not to divulge the death of his wife for the smooth shoot. "He took part in the shoot while the dead body of his wife was at house. After finishing the shoot, he did the funeral rites. The young generation should get inspiration from such dedicated persons."
