AVM's 172nd film launched in Telugu

After a long gap of several years, the prestigious AVM Productions banner has today launched its 172nd film, which is coming up in straight Telugu. The film stars Varun Sandesh (who made his debut as hero in Sekhar Kammula's Happy Days) and Vimala Raman (popular Malayalam heroine). Formal puja was conducted at Ramanaidu Studios, Hyderabad. The lead pair, producers M. Saravaranan and MS Guhan, director Marthand K. Shankar, lyricist Bhaskarabatla and cinematographer Venu Gopalan were present.

Later, addressing a press meet, hero Varun Sandesh said: "This is my third film, with my second film Kotha Bangarulokam under production. I am happy to be tied up with a reputed banner AVM Productions. I heard the script and am elated as the characterization is truly different and would give me a big break and recognition."

Heroine Vimala Raman said that this was her eleventh film, having done eight in Malayalam and two in Tamil. "I never expected that I would be clinching the deal with AVM. It is an honor to be working with these people."

Director Marthand K. Shankar, who makes his debut as director, said that he never believed his luck when he was given the opportunity to direct the 172nd film of AVM Productions. "This is a pure lover story with lots of entertainment. I will do my level best to give a superb entertainment. Currently, it's a straight Telugu one and I might consider this for Tamil later."

One of the producers Saravanan said: "We are happy to be entering into straight Telugu films after along gap. It is all for good. Hereafter, we will be regularly taking up good projects. We have confidence in Marthand Shankar's direction. This film would sure rock with high quality entertainment not only for the youth, but for all segments of the audiences." The regular shoot will commence from June. Highlight of the project is that it has music by Mani Sharma.
