Idhi… Asalu Katha, a thriller
Idhi… Asalu Katha, the film so titled, starring debutants Evin and Akanksha in the lead, is a lighter vein thriller of artiste turned debut director Jakir. Made on Vijaya Madhavi Movies banner, it is produced by MA Raju. A press meet was held on Sunday noon at Film Chamber building, Hyderabad.  Director Jakir said: "I find myself lucky to direct this film with the support of producer Raju. Prior to that, I am known to the film industry as an artiste with my debut in successful movie Bachelors. The present trend is ripe and happening for the thriller genre in entertainment. I prepared the subject with pinpoint care. The concentration of two years is the result of a wonderful script. Producer Raju was excited on hearing the narration and immediately said a big OK to the project's execution. We finished the first and second schedules of talkie and other action episodes from February to April. From tomorrow (May 5th), we are taking up canning of songs in the choreography of Nixon. You have romance, comedy, thrill and what not. The film is set for release in the first or second week of May." Jakir frankly admitted that he was highly inspired by Alfred Hitchcock while preparing the thriller subject. "However, the audiences are going to see the friendly flavor of famed director Bhagyaraj (of the movies in the late 70s and early 80s) in our film," Jakir added.

Heroine Akanksha, a Delhi-based state artiste, who made her debut as heroine in Tollywood, thanked the director and producer for her luck. "At a time when there is a big backing to the thriller genre, I am happy to get this opportunity. Director Jakir was inspired with my state performance in a play and got me signed for this project. I am confident of my talent and exhibited the same to the best of my efforts." Hero Evin said: "I am basically from the entertainment world of Mumbai. Jakir is a good friend of mine and he impressed me with his subject. I am happy to be part of Tollywood now, and I would be grateful to the Telugu audiences with this film." Producer Raju maintained that when he heard the subject from Jakir, he felt sure that the film would become a good entertainer.

Music is by Ghantadi Krishna. The other artistes included Jakir (director), Jeeva, MS Narayana, Arthi Puri and Manisha.
