Jackie Chan to release Dasavatharam Audio
|
It was a prelude to the release of the most anticipated movie of the year. Dasavatharam’s audio release event was held in Chennai amidst galore of glitterati at the Nehru Stadium. The event witnessed a full house audience who were screaming their lungs out with excitement when the stars appeared on stage. Shobana kick started the event at 6.10 p.m. by summoning the guests who were garlanded by director K.S. Ravikumar. The guests include Ramanarayanan, Sridhar – MD, Sony Music Southern Region, Sridhar – Oscar Films, Asin, Jeyaprada, Mammooty, Hemamalini, Vijay, and Amitabh. Guest of honor Jackie Chan who flew down to India exclusively for the event made his entry flanked by Mallika Sherawat and performed the Chinese Namaskar to ear splitting applause. Kamal and Chief Minister Karunanidhi made it to the stage together. K.S.R in his welcome speech introduced the guests and stated that it was an honor to have the Chief Minister for the event. “This joy is equivalent to winning both the State and National Awards for the movie,” he added. K.S.R’s speech was followed by memento presentation to the guests. Mammooty, Hemamalini, and Amitabh did the honors. Chief Minister gave away mementos to the crew members after which the trailer was screened. The trailer, apart from presenting a glimpse of the movie, also had the crewmembers share experiences being part of the visual extravaganza. Jackie Chan released the first copy of the audio to the Chief Minister and also presented a cheque for Rs. 5 lakhs to the Chief Minister Relief fund on behalf of the producers – Oscar Productions. Jackie remained the show stealer and brought the house down with his effortless simplicity – be it his struggle to get the names of the Chief Minister or Mallika right or the simple gesture of dropping the trash from the audio cover inside the trash can on the stage, Jackie won a few hearts. Vijay, in his speech, mentioned that the stage would be one of his unforgettable memories in life. He further added that Kamal has been his teacher and it would not be appropriate for a student to compliment the teacher. “I am waiting with bated breath for the movie to release,” an excited Vijay remarked. Addressing the gathering, Mammooty said he’s always overwhelmed with Kamal’s potential. “While many struggle to impress people with one role, Kamal is here with 10 different roles in a single movie which is no mean task,” Mammooty exclaimed. He also stated that he’s a Kamal fan. “The whole world thinks India is a Third World country in terms of economy, but Indian movie industry is on par with any First World country and the credit goes to Kamal,” Mammooty noted. Asin, in her address, thanked Kamal, KSR and the producers for having given her an opportunity and referred to the movie as special in her career. Amitabh and Hemamalini also addressed the gathering. Kamal, in his acceptance speech, thanked the guests and claimed that it was the Chief Minister’s works that gave him inspiration to write dialogues and script. “I screened the movie to the Chief Minister and for the first few minutes he was absolutely silent. However, his silent spoke to me and I could read his emotions out of it,” Kamal stated. He revealed that he suffered 26 fractures trying to attempt the stunts of Jackie Chan movies for Dasavatharam. He also mentioned that there are plans to collaborate with Jackie Chan and an announcement in this regard would be released soon. On Mammooty, Kamal mentioned that he’s one of the legends of Indian cinema. “His performance in Thaniyaavarthanam reduced me to tears and I’m absolutely delighted to hear him showering praises over me,” Kamal said. Kamal mentioned that Amitabh now fills the place left by Sivaji Ganesan. “I wish him good health and want him to guide Tamil cinema just the way Sivaji did,” he noted. Dasavatharam’s audio, scored by Himesh Reshmmiya, will be available in music stores from today. |
