The bilingual movie of Action hero and Dialogue King, Saikumar, is launched today at Annapoorna Studios, Hyderabad. The film titled Citizen is coming up in Telugu and Kannada. Imax Ramesh Prasad rendered the puja ceremony. APPSC Commissioner Venkatram Reddy switched on the camera. Senior police officer Gopinath Reddy clapped the muhurt shot. Telugu film producers' council president Tammareddy Bharadwaja did the formal first shot direction. It is made on CV Arts Private Limited banner. Saiprakash, director of the film, said: "I am happy to be talking to the Telugu press after a long time. Though I am a Telugu man, it is my luck that I had directed a record number of 76 films in Kannada. The story for this bilingual film is provided by producer CV Reddy, who also provides dialogues and screenplay. We launched the Kannada version on January 26th. The story requires the backdrop of Rayalaseema. So, we preferred Ballary region in Karnataka to suit both the versions. The area is known for its politically volatile nature like Kadapa and Kurnool districts in Andhra Pradesh. The story is about the exploits of a citizen for creating a better society." Producer CV Reddy said: "This is the second film of mine with Saikumar. The story is about the adventures of a sincere citizen to come out of the vicious circle in which he is caught due to the conspiracy of certain political baddies. The central theme can be compared to the Padmavyooham episode in Mahabharat. Here, our hero not only busts the vile design but also tells a fitting lessons to the villains." Hero Saikumar said: "This is my 75th film in Telugu and 50th film in Kannada. I am happy that the film is launched on the occasion of Mother-tongue day. I am very much attracted towards the title, because I was brought up by mother to become a sincere citizen. I play the role of a police without uniform in this film. We have comedy also. The film has a big climax episode." Heroine Vaibhavi (Introduction) said: "I am very happy to be associated with the team consisting of senior artists and technicians. I need your blessings." Jayaprakash Reddy, Asish Vidyarthi, Ajeya, Captain chowdhary and others are playing vital roles. Music is by Vandemataram Srinivas (who sang an emotional number from the album at the press meet), camera is by Manohar, and Stunts are by Thriller Manju. |
