Announcing Karachalana Yatra (Shake Hand tour) on April 23rd, the unit, consisting of producers and hero Sushanth, launched the tour at the temple Lord Suryanarayana Swamy at Arasavalli in Srikakulam on April 25th.

Their convoy passed through the districts of Vizianagaram, Vizag, East and West Godavari districts, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore, Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool, Anantapur and Mahaboob Nagar districts, touching on the theatres showing Kalidasu. The unit expects that Kalidasu would sure run for 100 Days in 15 centers, while 50 Days in not less than 30 centers. A media briefing was held today at the production house office in Hyderabad.

Producer Srinivas said: "It was actually a red-carpet welcome for us. The presence of Nagasusheela, daughter of ANR, accompanying her son and hero Sushanth proved to be the real crowd puller among the women audiences. Just for small scrolls in the local cable TVs, we had not taken up any big publicity. But, we got sea of response. Fans of ANR and Nagarjuna came in huge numbers and blessed Sushanth. They conducted success rallies at several places. The audiences at the theatres started demanding Sushanth to perform live to some song numbers, which he did with élan. The striking segment of his fans included the age group from 8 years to 15 years and above."

Another producer and hero's mother Nagasusheela said: "For the first time, I came out of the city and traveled the entire state. Though touring 14 districts under hot sun was a difficult task, I greatly enjoyed the warmth and love of fans of our family. The audiences of Andhra Pradesh received me as their Aadapaduchu and blessed my son Sushanth."

Sushanth said: "I never expected that I would get such a huge applause from the audiences for my debut performance. Their love and affection helped me to steel my determination further. Most of the audiences at the theatres asked me to do more number of films with mass characterization. However, I prefer to be an all-rounder and do mostly films with subjects in demand. It thrilled me a lot when I was made to inaugurate a bus shelter which was constructed by fans of my grandfather and uncle (ANR and Nag). We also visited the houses of our fans at various places. I also visited the birthplace of my grandmother Annapoornamma."
