Amar Singh’s security tightens

Samajwadi Party general secretary, Amar Singh is a wary man these days. His official bungalow is now more heavily guarded and rumours are that there is a CCTV installed to monitor the movements who come in and leave.
The heightened security could be since Amar Singh wants to avoid a repeat of the July sting operation known famously as the "cash for votes scam".
A news channel conducted the sting operation ahead of the July 22 trust vote on claims by three Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs that they were being bribed by Samajwadi Party leaders to abstain during the trust vote in parliament. On the day of the trust vote, the three MPs flashed wads of currency notes and alleged that they had been given bribes to abstain from the vote.
The names of Amar Singh and Ahmed Patel, Congress president Sonia Gandhi\’s political adviser, cropped up as the ones allegedly bribing the three BJP leaders. A committee formed to probe the matter has sought more time to finalize the report.
But it seems the sting operation continues to haunt the Samajwadi Party leader. And so the extra security cover! However, it is just not those who come to meet Amar Singh, but his own party activists who have to go through the security drill.
