Mahesh Babu’s Athidi, which got released to hysterical openings all over the world, is set to break the records of Pokiri when it comes to the first week collections. Reports say, Athidi collected a whopping Rs. 13 Crore in the first three days. Thanks to the Dasara vacation and non-existence of any other family oriented film, Athidi raked up a sensation among the movie buffs. Mahesh Babu’s performance spread like wild fire not only by the conventional publicity but also through mouth publicity. In Hyderabad, all the screens showing Athidi registered housefuls for all the shows ever since the opening day. This is against the previous flick of Mahesh Babu - Pokiri, which caught up with the audiences only from the third week. Further, the overseas report of Athidi’s screening for the last four days culled out a satisfactory report.
Meanwhile, with the finish of the Dasara vacation, the trade pundits predict a downward trend in the collections. But, one thing is sure, Mahesh Babu’s stamina helped the project come out victorious at the very initial days - with no fear of onslaught by Athidi’s predecessors - Thulasi & Chirutha.
