Shilpa’s emotional connection with Goody!
Everyone knows that Jade Goody has left London since she was diagnosed with Cancer. And guess what, she’s found many sympathisers here, prominent among them is none other Shilpa Shetty, the host of Bigg Boss. Shilpa, we hear, was very concerned. “She called her on the phone and had a long emotional chat with her,” says her friend. Jade was obviously very touched by Shilpa’s emotional gesture.
Big B to shave off beard?
Director R Balakrishna of Cheeni Kum fame has once again teamed up with Amitabh Bachchan in Pa and says he is giving the legendary actor a complete makeover. Big B is said to have agreed to cast off his beard for this emotional drama.“I’m not going to tell you whether I’ve asked Mr Bachchan to shave off his beard or not. But for sure, this is going to be his most startling makeover in recent times,” Balakrishna, who is also known as Balki, said.
After Sarkar and Sarkar Raj, Amitabh and Abhishek will again be seen playing father and son in a film. “Pa would be a far more emotional story than Cheeni Kum, which was far more caustic, dry and sharp-tongued. Actually, Cheeni Kum was inspired by one scene in Raj Khosla’s Dostana where Amitabh confronted Zeenat Aman. The look of utter disdain and sarcasm in his eyes remained with me. That’s how his character in Cheeni Kum was born.”
In Pa, Big B plays someone he has never played before. “While in Cheeni Kum he was a character I had seen earlier, in Pa he’s a totally different person. It’ a very emotional father-son story, but the emotions won’t be melodramatic.”
Call me KK!
Katrina Kaif has a new nickname, courtesy boyfriend Salman Khan. A source from the sets of Yuvraaj called to inform us that Salman calls her KK. Yes, we know it sounds like a villain’s name from the eighties’ but she seems to like it. In fact, KK (here we go) has taken such a fancy to the new nick that she insists everyone around her to call her that." Hmmm the other KK (Kareena Kapoor) must be doing a slow-burn!
Behna… aati rehna
Last year, Rakhi Sawant asked her mother and brother to move out of her apartment, after boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi moved in. Following that, the brother and sister stopped talking to each other. The duo made up recently. This Raksha Bandhan, the actress went to her brother Rakesh’s house and tied a rakhi on his wrist. The actress admits, "This is among my favourite traditions which I observe religiously every year. And please, it’s not a publicity gimmick. Which is why I am in my true colours," laughed the item girl who was in a totally de-glam avatar. This year, the brother gifted the danseuse-cum-TV show hostess a Ganesha murti. Everybody together now… Awwwww!
Rehearsal all around!
The globetrotting team of The Unforgettable Tour is going to move to its next destination, London. And the biggest Indian export to Great Britain, Shilpa Shetty, is going to perform. She is currently in Mumbai still but has been rehearsing around the clock for her performance in London. While, on the other side of the globe, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh who have just completed their show in New York, were also seen rehearsing for the London show. Such hard workers, no?
Ramu’s no dost
Karan Johar’s blog reply to Ramu’s blog digs: "I don’t hate Ram Gopal Varma. Hate is too strong an emotion to waste on anyone or anything. I regard some of his work and I’m indifferent to others. He’s no friend of mine and will never be, but I see no reason to bear any animosity towards him; the poor fellow can do with some love." This electronic tu-tu main-main is way too much fun.
