A film based on the life of Sonia Gandhi was supposed to be made but director Jagmohan Mundhra has decided not to go ahead with his ambitious project. This was based on a book written by Rashid Kanwai.
According to sources in the film industry, a disappointed Mundhra conveyed to the Congress managers his decision to shelve the film. Bellucci had reportedly given her consent, impressed by Carl Austen’s script, to the film’s Los Angeles-based director Jagmohan Mundhra. Bellucci, who had beaten Aishwarya Rai in the race to grab the Italian-born leader’s role in the film, is said to have been equally disappointed.
