SANGAREDDY[Hindu]: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president D. Srinivas here on Monday expressed apprehensions on how film actor Nandamuri Balakrishna and his family members would react in the long run against TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu for neglecting them so far. “They (Balakrishna and others) have silently experienced the humiliation they faced so far, but I do not know how they will react in future,” he said at a press conference here.
Stating that the Telangana issue was on the priority list of the party high command and AICC president Sonia Gandhi would honour the sentiments of the people, Mr. Srinivas said that some things could not be achieved in a haste.
He said that the UPA was a coalition of 17 parties and the Congress had been sincerely trying to solve the issue amicably.
Ruling out the possibility of early elections, the APCC president said that even if elections were held in February or March, 2009, it need not be considered as early.
Mr. Srinivas chose not to react against Praja Rajyam (PR) president Chiranjeevi stating that it was too early. However, he said that there was a lot of difference between film and political life.
Referring to the proposed alliances among different political parties, the APCC president said that they were not in a hurry, though the doors were always open for old friends. “We will give a thought to that only two months before elections,” he said.
