Ramoji first step to tackle corruption
Tuesday, April 15th, 2008 at 1:01 am

Ramoji Rao finally upped the ante against the Central and State Govt lashing out against the policies on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti. A piece written by the Editor titled Mundhadugu took everyone by surprise and relief. He derided the government for not sticking to it’s principles as far implementation of the Information Right is concerned even after it came into existence after two and a half years. He said Eenadu would be in the forefront exposing corruption at grass root levels in village and district levels and will question the authorities about all the money meant for government projects that has been converted as bribes and private properties. The people had the right to access information and Eenadu will stand by every NGO and person who are crusading for people’s rights and will aid and expose them in bringing out corrupt people.

Our Best Wishes to you Mr Ramoji Rao! I do not wish to comment on others’ comments whether you were not-so-clean to talk abt corruption now, etc. etc.
I consider the fact that you and Eenadu are known for your crusade for important issues like alcoholism etc. which helped many poor households in Andhra Pradesh to survive. Corruption is so deep rooted in every sphere that people have psychologically started accepting corruption as part of the system and - more dangerously - as a way of life. Being the leading regional newspaper EENADU can usher in a definite impact on people’s mindset to oppose, resist and fight corruption if Mr Ramoji Rao can succeed in bringing out the corrupt deeds of powerful politicians and bureaucrats to the open yard of the public. Mr Ramoji Rao has grown so big by now, if he is attempting this serious effort as something he owes to the people whose contributions to his newspapers, electronic media, chitfund, food and all businesses have made him what he is today, my only advice to him would be “dont confine your columns to the corruption issues which can be easily brought out at village sarpanch level or such minions…. please use your might and powerful sources and resources to bring out the big fish, without bothering which party they belong to. Authorities, whose decisions at macro level make a difference to the common man’s day-to-day life, ought to be your target. We wish to you all the very best in your noble effort.
