Mumbai: Pleasing seven heroes and three heroines in a film is proving to be a daunting task for Samir Karnik. The director of Heroes is having a tough time keeping all cast members happy.
It is learnt that Riya Sen has now voiced her displeasure about her character being reduced to a mere extra! Amrita Arora has already voiced her disgust about her role being arbitrarily chopped.
Says a source, "Riya agreed to do the film because of the presence of leading stars. She considered it a big project and wanted to work with A-List actors. Even though it was a multi-starrer, she was told that her character would have adequate scope. But now, she does not figure at all in the promos. Moreover, she is not even aware how many scenes she now features in."
The film’s mammoth cast includes Salman Khan, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Preity Zinta, Mithun Chakraborty, Sohail Khan, Dino Morea, Amrita Arora, Riya Sen and Vatsal Sheth.
Riya however maintains, "I am sure that the producers and director know best what to do with my role. Anyways, I don’t want much promotion for that little role of mine!"
Among the female cast, Preity Zinta is getting the maximim footage. Adds the source, "The other actresses have nothing left to do in Heroes with the entire male line-up alone clamouring for attention."
Karnik, who earlier directed Kyun… Ho Gaya Na and Nanhe Jaisalmer, is also producing Heroes along with Bharat Shah and Vikas Kapoor. Adds the source, "The makers have realised that the film is proving to be too long and needs to be edited. Obviously they can’t chop the heroes, the film is about them, so the female cast is getting edited out."
