Ryan Reynolds, Scarlett Johansson marry in Canada

Actress Scarlett Johansson married Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds at a small wedding ceremony near Vancouver, Canada, over the weekend. It is the first marriage for both.
"The small wedding took place at a remote wilderness resort outside Vancouver, with the limited guest list including Scarlett’s mother, Melanie Sloan, and her brother, Adrian Johansson," reports Us magazine.
Ryan, 31, and Scarlett, 23, who announced their engagement in May, have been dating since February 2007. Ryan was previously engaged to Canadian singer Alanis Morissette. Scarlett previously dated actor Josh Hartnett.
Reynolds recently revealed he is eager to have children with Johansson. "I do want a child at some point," he said. "I feel like I need to fulfill the genetic paradigm, the destiny of it all.’
Meanwhile, Scarlett recently said, “I believe in finding a soul mate. I’ve always been in monogamous relationships. I would never want to be in an open one. It’d be too awful.”
The hush-hush wedding came as a surprise, since it had been reported that Johansson had planned to delay the ceremony until after the upcoming U.S. presidential election, which takes Nov. 4, since Scarlett’s brother works for the Barack Obama campaign.
Johansson, whose films include The Other Boleyn Girl, The Nanny Diaries, The Black Dahlia, Match Point and Girl With A The Pearl Earring, has said falling in love has a lot to do with timing. "You don’t always meet the right person at the right time."
